Greetings…

My name is Otto. Thanks for checking out our new site. As some of you may still recall, sometime in 1998, a band called Morgan's Canon was born. The project would become a culmination of my experiences with sound, words, people and other retarded phenomena floating around the universe. I was soon joined by one of the most convincing metal guitar players on the East Coast, Leonardo. With the help of other talented, excited people the project lived to see some incredible things. After years of recording, touring, three albums, much sweat, scotch, tears, break up-s, break-downs, doubt, changes of minds and more devastatingly, hearts - of people, friends and the whole twisted fucking thing called music business, I am happy to report that Morgan's Canon lives.

You've probably heard many attention-grabbing cliché's associated with different ways of selling music, art, sex and sweetened iced tea. One thing I've learned over the years is not to try to shove something down people's throats. The effects are usually weak and short-lived. Consequently, I will allow my self only to express an appreciation for your interest and the following invitation. If you're getting sick of the fucking trend-obsessed radio and you're into the heavier, more eccentric shit - give a listen to the sound of Morgan's Canon. You may like what you hear.

More than ever, Morgan's Canon is hard, unmerciful rhythms, heavy guitar work and driving sound textures. Still, we draw from European-flavored melodies, vivid piano playing, classical harmony voicings, well orchestrated but unpretentious male and female vocals. Relevance of our lyrical content to something real in our lives (and hopefully yours) has always been important to Morgan's Canon. You won't get twelve songs about blood sucking vampires, fire gushing monsters or gods of metal conquering the world (unless they're female, naked and all hold degrees in social psychology).

During our live sets, we have proven to all skeptics that despite the complexity and depth of the recorded material, the music can translate well onto the stage, if with a more direct, raw emotion.

I do not want to dwell on past accomplishments of this band. I have asked for the old crap to be deleted from this section of the site. If you were there, you know; if you were there thank you. It is my most intense pleasure related to anything we have ever done, to introduce to you the new Morgan's Canon.
